Dave Ramsey’s real name is David Lawrence Ramsey III. He took birth on September 3, 1960, in Antioch, Tennessee. He was born in a real estate developer’s family.
He grew up in Antioch and went to Antioch High School. He showed an early interest in real estate. He took the real estate exam and started selling properties.
During that time he attended The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and secured the Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance & Real Estate.
As a real estate investor, he had built a portfolio worth more than $4 million in 1986. In 1988, he was unable to pay the credits and loan and filed for bankruptcy.
How Did Dave Ramsey Start His Career?
He started his real estate career during his college days. Later in 1988, he founded a financial counseling service “Lambo Group”. He wrote his first book “Financial Peace”, and published it in 1992.
In 1992, he began his radio career by co-hosting “The Money Game” with Roy Matlock. Later the show turned into “The Dave Ramsey Show”, as a financial advice talk show.
The Dave Ramsey Show was aired on Fox business from 2007-2010. In 2014, he renamed The Lampo Group to Ramsey Solutions.
In 2015, he was welcomed into the “National Radio Hall of Fame”.
His radio program is heard on more than 500 radio stations across the United State and Canada, on various platforms such as iOS application, YouTube, IHeartRadio, and live audio and video in DaveRamsey.com.
