Jesse Itzler’s real name is Jesse Eric Itzler. He was born in Roslyn, New York, U.S, on August 22, 1968. He is from a Jewish family. His father Daniel Itzler, an inventor, and his mother Elese Itzler founded the Roslyn Board of Education.
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from America University and later obtained a law and society degree from the same university.
How Did Jesse Itzler Start His Career?
He began his career as a songwriter and artist, after graduating from his college. He was signed with Delicious Vinyl and released his debut album “Thirty Footer in Your Face” in 1991.
He co-wrote songs for many artists including, Tone Lōc. In 1991, he released his first single “Shake It Like A White Girl“, touched #74 in the Billboard Hot 100. And was also featured in the movie “White Chick”.
He later wrote and sang a theme song “Go NY Go” for the New York Knicks. He also wrote and sang the song “I Love This Game” which won the Emmy Awards.
He co-founded Alphabet City Sports Records in 1996, with his friend Kenny Dichter, who is the CEO of “Wheels Up”. In 1998, they sold the company to SFX.
He co-founded the Marquis Jet, one of the largest private jet card companies in the world. In 2009, he was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway, the parent company of NetJets.
Itzler founded 100 Mile Group in 2009, and the same year they partnered with Coca-Cola and Zico Coconut Water. Later Zico was acquired by Coca-Cola.
He released his book, “Living With a Seal: 31 Days Training With the Toughest Man on the Planet”. It became the New York Times bestseller book and #1 on the LA times book list.
In 2015, he and his wife along with his group Tony Ressler, Rick Schnall, Grant Hill, and Steven Price purchased Atlanta Hawks for $850.
