Randolph Severn Parker III is Trey Parker’s real name. He was born to Randy Parker, a geologist, and Sharon, an insurance salesperson, in Conifer, Colorado.

He attended Evergreen High School. He began making short films with his friends when he was 14 years old, using a video camera that his father had given him.

He enrolled at Berklee College of Music after graduating in 1988, and after one semester, transferred to the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he met Matt Stone in a film class.
