A native of North Fort Myers, FL, Boston attended North Fort Myers High School. During his junior year, he grabbed 41 tackles, made 16 solo stops, and picked off 4 passes for a total of 736 yards and 5 touchdowns.
During his final two seasons, he was named a first-team all-area defensive back. In December 2009, the John Carrigan Rotary South All-Star Classic, held in Fort Myers, named him MVP.
As a senior, he ran for 11 touchdowns, caught five, and made one play on defense. He rushed for 841 yards on 103 attempts and caught 24 passes for 364 yards.

Kurt Coleman challenged Boston for the free safety spot in 2015. In the absence of Kurt Coleman, Ron Rivera named Boston the backup free safety for the first week of the regular season.
He recorded six tackles against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which tied a season-high. In all, 29 combined tackles were recorded by him in 16 games and one start for the 2015 NFL season.
His game-opening performance for the Panthers against the Broncos saw him record four solo tackles, deflect a pass and record his second career sack as Carolina lost 21-20.
During the fourth quarter, the Patriots sacked Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian for a ten-yard loss. He recorded seven combined tackles in Week 12 when the Oakland Raiders defeated the Green Bay Packers 35-32.
Due to a knee injury, the Carolina Panthers placed Boston on injured reserve on December 27, 2016. He was released from the injured reserve on May 2, 2017.
In 2018, Boston was signed by the Arizona Cardinals for a deal of $1.5 million. Where he competed to be starting strong safety against Budda Baker and to play alongside free safety Antoine Bethea.
On July 31, 2019, he signed a deal with the Panthers for one year. The following year on March 19, he signed a three years deal with the Panthers for an $18 million contract extension.
