Brad Feld took birth on December 1, 1965, in Arkansas. His dad is a Doctor and his mother is an artist. He grew up in Dallas, Texas, and went to a nearby school for his studies. He loved reading books from childhood.
He attended MIT and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. He completed a Master of Science degree in Management Science From the same college.
He was interested and actively involved in entrepreneurship and startups during his college days.
When did Brad Feld Started his Career?
While studying at MIT, in 1987 he co-founded a custom software development startup called Fed Technologies. Under his roof, the company has grown up with 20 employees and started making under $2 million in annual revenue.
Later the company was acquired by AmeriData in 1993 for around $2 million. Where Feld took the role of CTO.
He experienced an entrepreneurial failure in the late 1990s and early 2000s. When he helped operate, application service and hosting provider “Interliant”. Interliant failed in 2002, following the collapse of Dotcom bubbles.
In 2006, he co-founded Techstars, helping David Cohen, with an early-stage venture fund and startup booster.
In 2007, Feld co-founded Foundry Group, to invest in early-stage companies and held the entrepreneurs to get their ideas off the ground. The firm invests in technology companies throughout the U.S and Canada. And invest in the next generation of Venture capital fund managers.
Under the Foundry Group, he also raised $225 million Foundry Group Select in 2013, focusing on the early-growth stage investment. And Launched Foundry Group Next in 2016.
Before co-founding Foundry Group, he co-founded VC firms Mobius Venture Capital and Intensity Ventures.
Feld serves on board to several firms such as nonprofits National Center for Women & Information Technology, Global EIR Program, Startup Colorado, and UP Global.
