Khaby Lame Has Surpassed Charli D’Amelio As The Most Popular TikTok User

He rose to fame on TikTok by creating silent parody videos

KhabaneKhaby Lame (Italy) now has the most TikTok followers, at 144.5 million as of now.

The record had been held since March 2020 by Charli D’Amelio (USA), which has now been taken over by the 22-year-old silent comedian.

Lame gained popularity on TikTok by making silent videos that parodied other online content that claimed to be “life hacks” but were just excessively complicated solutions to basic issues.

He simplifies these “easy” fixes with a shrug and an inflamed expression.

Khaby was forced to return to his parents’ house in Turin, Italy, after losing his job as a factory worker during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Khaby started his TikTok account as a way to pass the time while confined indoors during the global lockdowns.

Although he didn’t receive many views on his initial videos. He used to upload videos of him dancing, playing video games, and experimenting with different filters on the app.

Everything changed in November 2020, when one of Khaby’s videos went viral.

By April 2021, Khaby had surpassed Gianluca Vacchi as the most followed Italian on TikTok thanks to a fast rise in his fan base.

Khaby even surpassed Zach King to become the second-most followed user and had the most followers on TikTok (male).

Khaby kept getting more popular, getting three million followers on average each month as opposed to Charli D’Amelio’s one million.

He has risen to the top of TikTok in less than two years, having launched his account in the same month that D’Amelio gained the most followers.

On TikTok, Charli D’Amelio continues to have the most followers (female). As the first person to hold 50 million and 100 million TikTok followers, respectively, she also owns the Guinness World Records for these feats.

Khaby says that the reason for his enormous fame is that his physical humor transcends language boundaries.

“I speak a universal language that everyone understands,” he told Forbes.

After agreeing to a collaboration with Hugo Boss and working with his hometown soccer team, Juventus F.C., last year, Khaby proceeded to experience success after success.

After meeting Lionel Messi and working on videos with Usain Bolt and Zlatan Ibrahimovi, he has also realized some of his boyhood fantasies.

Is it possible for someone to succeed Khaby Lame as TikTok lord?
