Kenny Smith Kenneth Smith. He took birth on March 8, 1965, in Queens, New York City. He was raised in LeFrak City and went to Archbishop Molloy High School.

He was passionate about basketball at his early age and used to play at New York’s Riverside Church. During his school time, he was coached by Jack Curran.

He attended the University of North Carolina and played basketball for the college.

He gives credit to Bobby Lewis, a former South Carolina State player for his development as a shooter and ball handler. He Several of the “Bobby Lewis Basketball Skills Development Program” lectures during his high school.

Career

He began playing basketball from his school days. And was actively participating in basketball during his college. As a freshman, he joined Michael Jordan on a North Carolina Team. He averaged 9.1 points and 5 assists per game.

After his college career in basketball, Smith played in the FIBA World Championship in 1986. Along with his team members Muggsy Bogues, David Robinson, & Steve Kerr. Where Smith scored 27 points to win the game.

He was selected by Sacramento Kings for the NBA draft in 1987. After averaging 13.8 points 7.1 assists per game. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team.

In the 1989-1990 session, he was traded by the Atlanta Hawks, where he represented as a reverse player and scored an average of 7.7 points per game.

In 1991-1992, he was traded to Houston Rockets, where he played for six seasons. He averaged 17.7 points per game.

During the final year of his career in the season 1995-1996. He joined the Detroit Pistons and played nine games with them. Later he was signed with  Orlando Magic, with whom he played only six games.

And then he joined Denver Nuggets, where he finished his career as a player. He has won 21 games that season. 

In his NBA career, he has scored 9,397 points (12.8 avg.), recorded 4,073 assists (5.5 avg). While shooting .399 from three-point range, 480 from the field, and .829 from the free-throw line. 

In 1998, after his career as a player. He joined Turner Sports as a studio analyst. Then he continued in various events as a sports commentator.
