Young Buck’s real name is David Darnell Brown. He was born on March 15, 1981, in Nashville, Tennessee, US. He is the son of Audrey Horn and James Brown.
He was interested in rapping from a very early age. It all happened when he saw his friend Clay Coe doing amazing rapping. He felt jealous and started rapping seriously.
He has been involved in many controversies. He was shot by gun multiple times at his home in Nashville during a home invasion.
He was again attacked by someone in his vehicle by luck. It was not present in the car. But then there was an open shooting in his Chevrolet car.
Buck has also been sentenced to 18 months in prison for illegal weapon charges. He was also arrested for threatening his ex-girlfriend.
He began his rapping at the age of 12 and a few years later in 1995, he got his first big deal. Where he performed for “Baby” Birdman, the co-founder of Cash Money.
Along with fellow rapper Juvenile, he left the label in 2000 and joined the UTP record label. He stayed there for three years.
UTP later led him to meet with New York rapper 50 Cent. who later signed him to his record label G-Units record, in association with Interscope Records.
Buck released two albums with UTP, Born To Be A Thug & The Compilation. And later left the group in 2003 and joined 50 Cent’s G-units record label.
In 2004, buck released his debut album with G-Units “Straight Outta Cashville”. The singles from the album include “Look at Me Now“, “Let Me In” and “Shorty Wanna Ride“.
The album debuted #3 at the Billboard 200 and 361,000 copies in the very first week. And got certified platinum by RIAA.
In 2007, he released his second album with G-unit “Buck The World”. In 2012 he discontinued the group.
Later in 2014, he reformed the group with 50 Cents, adding Kidd Kidd as a new member. And they released the debut EP “The Beauty of Independence”. Buck again released a mixtape with them “Before The Beast” along with Lil Boosie, Kidd Kidd, Tony Yayo, and Lloyd Banks.
The same year they released their second EP “The Best is G-Unit” and 20000 copies in its first week.
In 2015, he announced the release of “Behind The Walls” an in-depth book featuring the rappers behind the scenes of G-unit.
