Kara Goldin’s real name is Kara Ellen Goldin. She was born in 1968, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US. She is the daughter of Kay Keenan and William, of Tempe, Arizona. Her father and mother both were working professionals.
Goldin’s father retired as a general manager and his mother worked at a local department store. She is the youngest of her four siblings.
She was raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, and later moved to Minneapolis, when she was three years old. And there she went to the local school for her studies.
She attended Arizona State University and graduated with a Communication & finance degree in 1989.
Career
After graduating from college, she moved to New York City and started working at Time Inc. She worked there for three years. Then she started a job with CNN in the advertising sales department.
Afterward, she moved to San Francisco and joined a start-up company called 2Market. She worked there for two years as a National Sales Manager until the company was bought by AOL.
Then Goldin began working as the Vice President of shopping and e-commerce at AOL. and her husband worked at Netscape. Where she helped AOL to grow a billion dollars in revenue.
In 2001, AOL acquired Netscape, and she stepped back from her work to focus on her family life. And after having three children she wanted to spend her time living a healthy lifestyle.
During that time she realized that she was gaining weight and getting difficult to reduce it. After consulting the doctor, she was told to have medicine.
She denied consuming the medicine and found it was all happening because of drinking, unhealthy, sugary, and artificially sweetened water.
In 2005, she founded “Hint” a flavored water brand. It is flavored only with natural fruits. Since its inception, after 12 years she has built a great business empire. And concern to silicon valley’s highest-profile companies, including Facebook, Google, and Linkedin.
In 2011 she added Fizz carbonated beverages to the product line. And in 2017, she entered the sunscreen market.
In 2020, she published her book, “Undaunted”. And also host a podcast “The Kara Goldin Show.
