Adam Grant’s real name is Adam M. Grant. He was born on August 13, 1981, in West Bloomfield, Michigan. He was born to a father, a Lawyer, and a teacher mother.
He grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and went to the local school for his studies. During his school days, he was a professional basketball player and participated in springboard diving. In school days he was associated with All -Americans in Diving in 1992.
He attended Harvard College and graduated with a degree in B.A. Later he obtained an M.S and Ph.D. degree in organizational psychology from the University of Michigan. During his college time, he worked as a professional magician.
How Did Adam Grant Start His Career?
Grant was hired as an assistant professor of organizational behavior by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007. In 2009, after publishing a series of academic journals, he was hired by Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, as an associate professor.
Becoming the youngest profession at the age of 28. Where he teaches organizational Psychology. As a professor, he was ranked the best professor from 2011 to 2017.
In 2013, he published his first book, “Give and Take”, which became the New York Times bestseller. In 2016, he published another book “Originals”, which again went successful and became a bestseller.
In 2017, he co-founded Give and Take Inc, along with professor Wayne Baker, and entrepreneur Cheryl Baker. The company makes the software called Givitas, designed to help organizations from the principle of his book Give and Take.
The same year he published his book “Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy”. And in 2021 he published another book, Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don’t Know.
All of his books are best-selling books and have sold millions of copies translated into 45 different languages. Grant speaking and consulting include clients are the NBA, Google, the Gates Foundation, and Bridgewater.
He serves as a board advisor of “Lean In” and also as a creative advisory board of EXILE Content. He runs a podcast called “Taken For Granted”.
