Later Chaikin founded the firm Bomar Securities LP, which he sold to Instinet in 1992. And became the senior vice-president at the Instinet brokerage house.
He has spent most of his career developing computerized stock selection models for money managers. He is the creator of the first real-time analytics workstation, for stock traders, portfolio managers, and proprietary analytics, which are currently a key part of the Thomson Reuters institutional workstation.
Chaikin is mostly recognized as the development of the Accumulation/Distribution Line indicator (ADL). He also developed the Chaikin Volume Accumulator (VAC) indicator.
He has also developed two major indicators the Chaikin Money Flow Indicators and Chaikin Oscillator, which were heavily used on Wall Street.
In the 2000s, he founded Chaikin Stock Research, to provide stock tools to individual investors. Chaikin has appeared on several news channels, such as Fox Business, and CNBC.
