Justin Holiday’s real name is Justin Alaric Holiday. He was born in Mission Hills, California to Shawn and Toya Holiday. Both his parents were college basketball players at Arizona State.

Justin attended Campbell Hall High School in Los Angeles, California, where, as a senior, he averaged 19.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.

He led his team to a 33-1 record at the State Class IV Championship. He chose to attend Washington State University after high school.

He was picked in the 2011 NBA draft but did not receive a contract. He therefore signed with the Belgian club called Okapi Aalstar for the 2011-2012 season.

In July 2012, he was signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers but was later waived in 10 days. The Portland Trail Blazers also claimed him but again waived him on October 27 of the same year.

Later, on October 31, he was acquired by the Idaho Stampede, an NBA G-League team. On April 1, 2013, he was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers. He was named to the All-NBA D-League Third Team and the All-Defensive Second Team.

He was waived by the 76ers in August, then signed by the Utah Jazz in September, but again waived by them in October. He signed with the Hungarian club Szolnoki Olaj for the rest of the season on November 21, 2013.

In July 2014, Justin joined the Golden State Warriors, where he scored his then career-high 23 points in a loss against the Denver Nuggets. 

Holiday won the 2015 NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors when they defeated the Cavaliers in the finals. 

On July 9, 2015, the Atlanta Hawks signed Holiday. He was later traded to the Chicago Bulls on February 18, 2016.

He was traded to the New York Knicks on June 22, 2016, where he appeared in 82 games in total. On July 10, 2017, he returned to the Chicago Bulls in 2017. Where his performance improved.

On January 3, 2019 he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, where he scored his current career high of 30 points in a 129-127 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

On July 31, 2019, he signed a 1-year deal with the Indiana Pacers, where he was on the same team as his younger brother Aaron Holiday. In July 2020, he signed a 3-year contract with the Pacers.
