Jordan Belfort is an American entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker. He is best known for his book “The Wolf of Wall Street”. 

Which in 2013 was released as a movie with the same title. Belfort’s role was played by Leonardo Dicaprio in the movie. 

He has spent 22 months in prison for a penny stock scam and stock manipulation.

Early Life

His birth name is Jordan Ross Belfort. He was born on July 9, 1962, in The Bronx, New York City, New York, US. He was born in a Jewish family, to his father Max and mother Leah. They both were accountants.

He grew up in Bayside Queens and from there he has completed his high school. During that time he and his friend earned $200,000 selling Italian Ice Cream at the local Beach. 

He attended American University and graduated with a biology degree. Later he joined the dental school, University of Maryland School of Dentistry

He started his own company Stratton Oakmont in the 1990s’. He started earning huge profits with his company. He pumps and dumps the stock sales with his investor. 

During this period he has lived a lavish life, purchasing luxury stuff, a mansion, and a sports car. It was party mode all the time. That was the time when he became a drug addict. And got involved in several unusual activities, like crashing his helicopter in his Yacht. 

His drugs continued in his second marriage also. His behavior was reckless towards his co-workers. The environment of the office was substance abuse, horseplay, and sex.

In 2003, he was sentenced to four years of jail and a $100 million fine. He has spent 22 months in prison. When he was behind the bar, a fellow met inspired him to write a book about his experience.

After getting out of jail he published his memoir “The Wolf of Wall Street”. Later in 2013, a film was made in the same name featuring Leonardo Dicaprio as Belfort.

Nowadays he works as a motivational speaker and provides sales training. He is an expert in straight line sales training and provides various courses. 

He also runs a podcast called “The Wolf’s Den”, where he talks about sales and entrepreneurship.

Earlier he got married to Denise Lombardo. But they got divorced. Then he married a British model Nadine Caridi, who he had met at a party. They both have two children. 

Due to his drug addiction, they got separated and got divorced in 2005.
