Joe Gatto was born on June 5, 1976, in Staten Island, New York, U.S. Gatto is of Italian descent. He went to Monsignor Farrell High School, also with his three friends Murray, Gatto, Vulcano, and Quinn they were a member of the High School’s Improvisation Club.
Gatto received his degree in accounting as he studied at the LIU Post.
After graduating from college he and his friends Murray and Vulcano reunited after being apart for years. They formed a sketch comedy troupe in the year 1998 and named themselves The Tenderloins.
The Tenderloins posted their sketch videos on the Youtube channel, Myspace, and Metacafe. Which got a lot of views. This troupe won an amount of $100,000 as a grand prize from the NBC show called It’s your show for the sketch “Time Thugs”.
One of the popular shows is Impractical Jokers. Which started to premiere in the year 2011 on TruTV. The show quickly attained a lot of views in its first season. Later, Gatto along with the other members of the Tenderloins appeared on the Jameela Jamil hosted show called ‘The Misery Index.
There was also a movie made called “Impractical Jokers: The movie” that got released in the year 2020.
On December 1, 2021, he stepped away from The Impractical Jokers and The Tenderloins. To focus on his children, after the split with his wife. And he got an outcry of support from the fans and the members of the Tenderloins.
