Penn Holderness was born in Durham, North Carolina, to a public school teacher and a Presbyterian minister. He grew up in Durham and went to Charles E. Jordan High School. Where he was active in playing basketball and also was a choral music student at the residential Governor’s School of North Carolina (East). He is also a board of directors of the Governor’s School Foundation. 

He graduated from the University of Virginia obtaining a degree in philosophy. His first journalism job was in the city of Grand Junction, Colorado. Then five years in Orlando. For three years from 2003-05, he hosted “Designers Finals” on HGTV

He also hosted a college basketball show on CSTV along with Matt Doherty. He has also worked for ABC and ESPN as a video essayist.

Kim Dean Holderness was born in Florida. She was a competitive dancer. She grew up in Florida and went to a nearby school for her studies. She went to the University of Florida and was a member of the Dazzlers dance team that performed at athlete events. 

In 1998, he graduated with a degree in Telecommunications. She started her career as a TV reporter before joining Inside Edition in 2004-08 in New York City.


The Holderness Family got its first fame in 2013. When their Christmas video went viral on Youtube with 15 million views in a week. The video title was “XMAS Jammies” – a parody of Will Smith’s “Miami”. Since then they started making videos.
