Frank Giustra was born on August 22, 1957, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of Giuseppe and Domenica Giustra. His father used to work as a driller and blaster in the mines. Frank’s childhood was spent in Argentina and Texada Island off the British Columbia coast. He has a sibling named Enrico Guistra.
He did his middle school in Aldergrove, British Columbia, Canada, and finally graduated from high school in 1976. He got into Douglas College in 1976 and spent his time learning trumpet.

Frank Giustra started his career in 1978 as an assistant trader with Merrill Lynch. Later he started to work as a stockbroker. He left the mining industry in 1996 before the whole industry collapsed while he was working at the Vancouver stock exchange as a broker.
During the 1980s Giustra created a new resourcing- financing group in Europe for the new firm ‘Yorkton Securities’. It is said that he created the firm as a major force for the whole world. Later, he also became the president of the company as he was appointed as the CEO in 1995.
Frank and some group of investors merged a junior company named Wheaton River Minerals with another company named Goldcorp, which was under Rob McEwen by the end of 2005. According to the reports Goldcorp became the world’s fourth-largest producer of gold.
From 2001 to 2007, he was in the chair of Endeavour Financial which was a merchant banking firm. In 2007, Frank stepped down from the company for his philanthropy interests.
He was also the chairman of the company Leagold Mining between 2017 to 2019. But in 2019 the company was sold to the Equinox Gold Corporation.
