Dubai, UAE – The Boring Company, founded by Elon Musk, has announced a new partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to construct an underground tunnel network spanning over 10 miles. This ambitious project aims to revolutionize urban mobility by reducing traffic congestion and introducing a new high-speed, electric-powered transit system.
The project will feature Loop technology, a transportation system designed to carry passengers using autonomous electric vehicles (AEVs) through underground tunnels. Unlike traditional subways, these systems promise minimal wait times and high-frequency transport, significantly improving commuting efficiency.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Boring Company and Dubai’s RTA, marking the first step in making this vision a reality.
