Bob Baffert took birth  on January 13th, 1953 in Nogales, Arizona. His parents are Ellie Baffert and Bill Baffert Sr

Baffert got his degree in Bachelor of Science from the University of Arizona. He enrolled in a Race Track Industry Program where he studied animal science and racetrack management.

Growing up at a ranch, Baffert loved horses. Baffert went into training horses when his father purchased quarter horses and taught him the basics of the racehorse business. 

After training four champions for the Quarter Horse division, Baffert shifted his focus to Thoroughbred racing in the late 1980s.

In 2007, Baffert was recognized at the Hall of Fame of Lone Star Park. Two years later he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the National Museum Of Racing.  

In 2012, Baffert won the second position in all three Triple Crown races, and in 2014, he trained a Bayern that won him The Breeder’s Cup Classic

Finally, In 2015, Baffert became the first trainer in 37 years to condition a Triple Crown winner. When his American Pharoah won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes

In 2016, Baffert won his 13th Breeders’ Cup win with Drefong. With 14 Breeders’ Cup wins, Baffert was just behind D. Wayne Lukas.

In 2018, Baffert was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Kentucky Sports. Baffert appeared in the documentary ”7 Days Out” in the same year.

Baffert won the Filly and Mare Sprint for the first time at the 37th Breeders’ Cup World Championships, making his overall Breeders’ Cup win total to 17.

Ben Jones’s record for most Derby winners was finally broken by Baffert on May 1, 2021.  

Subsequently, in November of the same year, Baffert won his 18th Breeders’ Cup.
