Blake Bell’s real name is Blake M. Bell. He was born on August 7, 1991. Bell played as a quarterback for Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Wichita, Kansas. During his senior year in 2009, he passed for 2,752 yards and 32 touchdowns. According to Rivals.com, he was ranked as the sixth-best pro-style quarterback recruit.
Bell Blake was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 43rd round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft, but he did not sign a contract with the team.

The University of Oklahoma offered Bell a football scholarship and he redshirted in 2010. His rushing attempts led to 171 yards and 13 touchdowns in the Sooners’ jumbo package in 2011 when he was the backup quarterback to Landry Jones.
His only completion was eight yards and an interception. With 51 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries, he was voted MVP of the 2011 Insight Bowl.
Bell was a backup to Jones in 2012 and was mostly used in the jumbo package in 2012. With 201 yards on 60 carries and 11 touchdowns, he completed 9-of-16 passes for 107 yards.
He played in 11 of 13 games as a junior in 2013, reserving his spot at Kansas State University for the 2014 Sugar Bowl. In total, he completed 140 of his 233 attempts for 1,648 yards, 12 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
During the 2014 Sugar Bowl, Bell was converted from a quarterback to a tight end after the emergence of the redshirt freshman quarterback Trevor Knight. During his nine games, he gained 214 yards on 16 receptions and scored four touchdowns, mostly as a blocking specialist.
Among the 19 college tight ends attending the NFL Scouting Combine, Blake Bell was one of them. In the combine, his performances were mixed, finishing second to last among tight ends in the bench press and fifth in the 40-yard dash, broad jump, and vertical jump.
